Dadda and I had a nice run out to Ram Island to check out the landscape and wildlife. On the trip we watched a Mommy hawk feed her two chicks in a tree top nest. We walked along a pier by the harbor and ran thru wild flowers. Of course on the leg back, I got a little sleepy and fell asleep in the jogging stroller. Mamma was there to when we got home to give me a baba and put me to sleep.
We have been having a great time and look forward to updating everyone with more news.

McRae--I just wanted to tell you about a really special day that you and I had today. Your Dada left Shelter Island last night. We took him over to Greenport on the ferry and had dinner with him on the water. Then, we dropped him off at the Jitney and got back on the ferry to Shelter Island and we both waved bye-bye to him until we couldn't see him anymore. This morning, you and I went for a run(you were in the BOB stroller) and then we went and had coffee in town. We met other kids and the owner of the coffee shop loved you and was talking to you in Spanish. Later in the day we went for a swim in the pool where you were bending forward off the edge after I would say "1,2,3, TO MAMA!!!" After your afternoon nap, just the two of us went to Sunset beach for dinner. We walked on the beach before dinner and then shared a chicken salad and Mama had a Planter's Punch and 1/2. All of the wait staff was talking to you in French and walking you around the restaurant. They know you there and all love you. After dinner, there was a band playing on the beach and we listed to the drums and danced for a while and met some other babies. When you started rubbing your eyes, we got in the car with the windows rolled down, listed to Coldplay and drove off into the sunset. It was the most magical night, and I am only sorry that your Dada wasn't there to share it with us. I wanted to write it down for you bc it is a night that I will always remember and I wanted you to know all about it. You are a joy to all who meet you and you have had so much fun with everyone that has visited us this summer in Shelter Island. You are an absolute blessing to me and your Dada and we have had the most fun and best summer ever with you. We love you endlessly now and always.
Love, your mama.
